Martha Iglehart was raised in a family with strong Christian beliefs. She grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, where after graduating from the University of North Texas in Denton, she became the first Black female anchor and reporter at KFDX-TV, an NBC affiliate station. Her career in the media business spans more than 23 years. She currently lives in Austin, Texas, and is employed by the legendary KASE 101 radio station as an account executive. Her interest and passion for healing has led her to be a part of the Light Touch Healing ministry at Unity Church of Austin South. She practices Reiki, an ancient Japanese healing technique and holds a Master Teacher’s certification. She serves on the board of directors for Project Transitions, an organization that provides housing and services for people living with AIDS, and the Writers’ League of Texas. She also serves on the Austin Arts Commission. She enjoys writing, reading, cooking, golfing, yoga, and developing her spiritual path. |
