AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2001--Banderacom, a leading fabless lnfiniBand semiconductor company, and Lane 15 Software, the leading developer of InfmiBand management software, today announced a partnership to deliver integrated silicon, software, and development tools to InfiniBand equipment manufacturers. Specifically, the Lanel5 Management Agent, a critical software element required in each component of standards-compliant InfiniBand equipment, will be shipped with Banderacom's mandit InfiniBand silicon products, and in Banderacom's mandit Product Development Kit (PDK).
"Banderacom's objective is to enable rapid InfiniBand system development," said Les Crudele, president and CEO ofBanderacom, Inc. "The Lane 15 Management Agent completes our software offering and enables our product development kit to perform out-of-the-box as a functioning 'reference design' that our customers, networking and computing equipment manufacturers, can utilize as-is, or customize by plugging-in their own hardware and software."
"Banderacom's IBandit Product Development Kit provides the essential tools for rapid development ofInfiniBand target solutions," said Alisa Nessler, president and CEO of Lane 15 Software. "We look forward to working with Banderacom and other leading InfiniBand vendors to deliver world-class InfiniBand solutions."
Lane 15 is developing fabric management software - the glue that holds an InfiniBand environment together, supporting initialization, configuration, routing, monitoring, and fail-over. The Lanel5 offerings will deliver an open, vendor-neural software solution that reduces time-to-market for InfiniBand products while saving development costs for hardware vendors and deployment costs for end users.
Banderacom recently introduced a prototype chip set and PDK for the IBandit InfiniBand silicon architecture. mandit's advanced InfiniBand silicon architecture includes 4X (10 gigabit) link speed, PCIX, integrated SerDes, and the industry's only InfiniBand Protocol Engine, and provides the highest bandwidth channel adaptor solution available. mandit's single chip solution enables high density, high performance, low-power systems by providing the industry's most integrated InfiniBand system-on-chip device. Banderacom's PDK includes expandable host and target channel adaptor systems, IBandit prototype chips, documentation, and software from Banderacom, Lanel5, and WindRiver Systems.
InfiniBand is an industry standards based interconnect technology that dramatically increases scalability , reliability, and flexibility of server and storage systems used in modern networks. Whereas today's storage and server networks require a multitude of different interconnect technologies including Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, SCSI, and PCI interconnect, ultimately InfiniBand can replace any or all of these within data centers providing a universal interconnect fabric enabling new, lower cost, higher performance, and more reliable networks that are not possible today.
The InfiniBand Trade Association is an industry trade organization dedicated to developing and promoting the InfiniBand architecture. More information about the InfiniBand Trade Association and specifications can be found at www.infinibandta.org.
